Bees and Roses

I just got back from my hometown and it was my friend's birthday and she was over for tea. This was the best I could do in a few hours! Turned out nice and clean all thanks to Satin Ice fondant and gumpaste.  Very nice texture but good price at the same time. I have always been a Wilton fan but I am now sold on Satin Ice.

Simply Roses

Simply Roses. The assignment when I was doing this cake as the finale for the classes I was attending was a cake with a few pink roses in the middle and green leaves. Of course we could be creative so I wanted to keep it simple with just 2 colours so that the roses would be the main feature and provide a nice contrast.

This is an 8 inch butter cake with roses made from krimwell buttercream. The red is a combination of Wilton's Red Red and Christmas Red. It took me a total of 6 hours to complete the cake.
